The shooting took place in Hartford around 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 at 48 Huntington St., said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.

Hartford police responded to the area on a ShotSpotter activation that recorded numerous bullets had been fired, Boisvert said.

Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old male, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers also located a 12-year-old girl, suffering from a gunshot wound to her head and abdomen, he added.

The girl, identified as Secret Pierce, of Hartford, was unresponsive on scene. Both victims were transported to St. Francis Hospital, police said.

The male victim was listed in stable condition. Pierce was initially listed in critical/unstable condition, but she was pronounced dead at 7 a.m. on Friday, April 21, Boisvert said.

Boisvert said that while on the scene, officers were alerted by St. Francis Hospital, that two additional victims, a 16-year-old and a 23-year-old, were transported by private vehicle for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

It was determined that the shots came from a passing vehicle, police said.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and assumed the investigation.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with any information regarding the case is asked to call the HPD Tip Line at 860-722-TIPS (8477).
